Grooming means the careful, slow breaking-in of the main users. You are slowly getting them used to things being slightly different in their homes than they remember, and so over time they become more tolerant of traces you may have left, or mistakes you may make. Depending on your character and the personality of the main user, grooming may range from “misplaced” objects to “sooner than expected” depleted provisions all the way to a little assistance in cleaning the fridge. Grooming requires a great deal of experience and sensitivity. You need to have a sense of the main users’ tolerance levels towards themselves and their memories, which you must never test to the limit. If the grooming succeeds, staying in the various homes is much easier and less stressful for you.
